From Mother Vicki

From Mother Vicki

Almighty and everlasting God, who in the Paschal mystery established the new covenant of reconciliation: Grant that all who have been reborn into the fellowship of Christ's Body may show forth in their lives what they profess by their faith;through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God,
for ever and ever. Amen.
Collect for The Second Sunday of Easter
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

“Alleluia!  Christ is Risen!
The Lord is risen indeed, Alleluia!”

Thanks be to God! Business does not go back as usual.  We have 50 days to celebrate Easter, culminating in the Feast of Pentecost, the next service for which it is appropriate for us to include Baptisms.  We were blessed Easter Sunday at the 10:15 a.m. Service with two infant baptisms, Aaden Browne (one month old) and Orion Lesko (two months old).  May God bless and hold them and their families in God’s loving care as they grow in God’s grace.

We thank God for everyone who helped make Easter Sunday so spectacular:
For those gave money towards flowers in thanksgiving and in memory of loved ones
For those who helped beautify the Sanctuary by polishing the brass
For those who purchased and arranged all of the glorious flowers (especially the Walsh family!)
For our faithful and wonderful Altar Guild
For our excellent Thurifer, Eucharistic Ministers and Acolytes
For the Saint John’s Children’s Choir who had all of the words memorized and who were terrific
For the Saint John’s Festival Choir who sang beautifully and whose vibrant presence and participation made Easter Sunday a glorious occasion and to my husband Bob for his great conducting and leadership
For Jason Slayden, our glorious tenor soloist, whose voice is still ringing out in the Sanctuary
For Jurhee Hong, our organist, who played her heart out in the hymns and especially in the postlude
For all who worshipped and prayed with us
For all who gave such generous offerings
For all who brought such delicious food for the coffee hour
For all who served at the coffee hour
For all who helped with the children’s egg hunt
etc. etc.

It was a great and glorious day.  Thanks be to God that we still have weeks to go as we continue to celebrate Christ’s glorious resurrection from the dead!
“Alleluia!  Christ is Risen!
The Lord is risen indeed, Alleluia!”
Easter blessings and joy,
 The Rev. Canon Victoria Sirota
