May Birthdays: Sa Nja Henderson, May 8, Elijah Henderson, May 24; Anne Campbell, May 27

We congratulate Jen Longley on the publication of her first article in the journal Young Children.

We pray for and give thanks to God for this neighborhood of Getty Square, for all who live and work here, for all who come here for goods and services, for those who are homeless and hungry, for the Sharing Community, Salvation Army, YWCA and the YMCA, the Yonkers Fire and Police Departments, and all who work to help others. We pray for healing for those who struggle with addictions, and physical and mental disabilities. May we be blessed with compassion and love, and may this Congregation be the hands and feet of Christ in Getty Square.

We hold in our prayers: Fatima Mishk, Kimberly DeShon, Shelley Henderson, Naomi Henderson, Sabrina Garcia, Janice Soto, Charlotte Avallone, Len LaRosa, Marion Eich, The Rt. Rev. Richard Grein, Nancy Headley, Margaret Embree, Aaron Cohen, Monica Harmon, Chester Evans, Felix Benzan, Beverly Sims, Clyde Mahoney, Ralph Tremonte, Aida Carino, Harold Cronk, June & Waine Kniffen, Peter Walsh, and The Rev. Canon Claudia Wilson. Those injured in the Waffle House shooting in Nashville and those injured in the van incident in Toronto. We pray for tighter gun control, for those in war-torn countries--especially Syria and Afghanistan, and for our President, our country, our first responders, and all refugees and immigrants.

We pray for those who have died including: The Rev. Dr. James Cone, Gayle Gray (Fr. John’s Godmother), Barbara Bush, The Rev. Paul Wancura, Ernest Brigden, and for all those the world over who have died from war- especially in Syria and Afghanistan, natural disasters, and gun violence, including students killed in Maryland, Alabama and Florida, and those killed in Nashville and the Toronto.
