From Mother Vicki

20 September 2018

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

Our 325th Anniversary Celebration is this Sunday.  How glorious it will be!  The Right Rev. Mary D. Glasspool, the Assistant Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, will be our Celebrant and Preacher at both services.  Please hold Angelique Piwinski, Leila Cole and Denise Hackl in your prayers.  Bishop Glasspool will receive Angie into this Communion, and Leila and Denise will be reaffirming their baptismal vows.

We will have members of our daughter parishes visiting at our 10:15 am Festival Holy Eucharist as well as political dignitaries and guests.  Clergy present will include our Priest Associate Canon Claudia Wilson, as well as Visiting Clergy including Canon Tom Orso, Canon Blake Rider and our new Canon to the Ordinary The Rev. Canon John D. Perris. Our Saint John’s Festival Choir will be singing under the direction of Robert Sirota with special soloists Abigail Fischer, soprano and Jason Slayden, tenor.  In honor of this occasion, my husband Bob and I have written a special choral blessing for The Saint John’s Festival Choir.

Thank you for your wonderful support for this festive fundraiser to help repair and restore our Clerestory Windows.  We are deeply moved by the ads, donations and responses from people near and far, as well as everyone here who has already donated abundantly of their time, resources and energy.  THANK YOU!  This will be such a joyous event.  Don’t miss out!  Car-pooling from the church will be available to the Gala Luncheon at the Riverview, where there will be a Silent Auction, a retelling of our history led by our own Alicia DeBride and Elijah Henderson with help from our young people, and a message from Mayor Spano.  In addition, we will have a special musical presentation from Young at Arts from Christ Church, Bronxville and an exciting announcement.

In Christ and with love,
Vicki+
