Intercessions and Thanksgivings

We thank you, Lord, for all the blessings of this life including, including those celebrating birthdays this week especially Karen Lorence, Samuel Akhtar, Sarah Harmon, and Salil Akhtar, for this neighborhood of Getty Square, for all who live and work here, for all who come here for goods and services, for those who are homeless and hungry, for The Sharing Community and Westhab, The Salvation Army, YWCA and the YMCA, the Yonkers Fire and Police Departments, and all who work to help others. We pray for healing for those who struggle with addictions, and physical and mental handicaps. May we be blessed with compassion and love, and may this Congregation be the hands and feet of Christ in Getty Square.

We hold in our prayers: Vicki Sirota, John Tracy, Giselda Nascimento, Edith Williams, The Reverend Canon Nora Smith, Aida Carino, Judith Shorrocks, Mary Jane Nolan, Catherine Corry, Eileen Quinn, Nancy Headley, Velma Crichton, Tara Bowers, Carmen Hanchard, Linda Brown, Carla Jean DeBride, Felix Benzan, Tom O’Connor, Ruby Dixon, Joan Smith, Carol Shoemaker, Neil Parkey, Tom Cacavio, The Rev. We pray for Anthony Johnson as he continues his journey as a Postulant for diaconal ordination, for the Scavenging Workers’ Children in India, for those impacted by natural disasters throughout the world, for tighter gun control, for those in war-torn countries especially Israel and Palestine, and for our President, Congress and our country, for our first responders and military, and for all refugees and immigrants, especially the children.

We pray for those who have died including We pray for all who have died that they may have a place in your eternal kingdom and those who have died the world over from war, terrorism and natural disasters. We also lament those who have died over the centuries due to slavery, lynching, racism and the unequal and unjust treatment of peoples in this country.
