From Mother Vicki

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

I am so very sad to hear the news of the death of Hyacinth Anthonyson on Tuesday, August 6 at age 86.  I remember seeing her on Sunday, July 7, my last Sunday with you before my surgery, and she seemed just fine, present to all with a sharp eye and loving smile. She faithfully volunteered for the cafe at our Farmers Market every week, and attended Wednesday Services of Holy Eucharist as well as Sundays. During the winter she would fly off to Antigua to be with her family and friends, but she always returned to be with her "church family."

This loss is a great one for our dear community, but please know that God is with us all, and that Hyacinth is now at peace.  She died on the Feast of the Transfiguration, when Peter, James and John beheld Jesus on the mountaintop in his transfigured glory, a taste of the Resurrection to come.

"All of us go down to the dust; yet even at the grave we make our song:
Alleluia, alleluia, alleluia."

"Give rest, O Christ, to your servant Hyacinth with your saints, where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting."

Sending blessings, prayers and love,

The Rev. Canon Victoria Sirota
