Thanksgivings and Intercessions

We thank you, Lord, for all the blessings of this life including, We thank you, Lord, for all the blessings of this life, for those celebrating birthdays and anniversaries this week including Carrie Parkey, Jen Longley, T.J. Hamilton Jr, Omar Lammie, Egypt Allen, Anthony Johnson, for Peter and Carol Walsh celebrating their 54th wedding anniversary, for this neighborhood of Getty Square, for all who live and work here, for all who come here for goods and services, for those who are homeless and hungry, for The Sharing Community and Westhab, The Salvation Army, YWCA and the YMCA, the Yonkers Fire and Police Departments, and all who work to help others. We pray for healing for those who struggle with addictions, and physical and mental handicaps. May we be blessed with compassion and love, and may this Congregation be the hands and feet of Christ in Getty Square.

We hold in our prayers including: Especially we pray for Chris Michel-Karsten, Dottie Tarallo, Shaadira and Roland Smith Javonne Smith, Bobby D’Amato, Tina D’Amato, Wendy Maxwell, Corey Maxwell, Wayne Maxwell, Cathi Venturini, Carolyn Johnson, Carol Walsh, John Tracy, Giselda Nascimento, Edith Williams, Aida Carino, Judith Shorrocks, Mary Jane Nolan, Catherine Corry, Eileen Quinn, Nancy Headley, Velma Crichton, Tara Bowers, Carmen Hanchard, Carla Jean DeBride, Felix Benzan, Tom O’Connor, Ruby Dixon, Joan Smith, Carol Shoemaker, Neil Parkey, Tom Cacavio, Fatima Mishk, Monica Harmon, Ralph Tremonte, and The Rev. Canon Claudia Wilson. We pray for Anthony Johnson as he continues his journey as a Postulant for diaconal ordination, for the Scavenging Workers’ Children in India, for those struggling with the aftermath of Hurricane Dorian, for those impacted by the shootings in Texas, for tighter gun control, for those in war-torn countries, for our President, Congress and our country, for our first responders and military, and for all refugees and immigrants, especially the children.

We pray for those who have died including, For all who died in the terror of September 2001 and for those others whom we remember today, Glen Ford Emmanuel (DeBride cousin), Juan Rosado, Keith McCloghrie, Willie Robert Freeman, Sylvia Pelikan, Gene Iacovetta, and all who have died from Hurricane Dorian and recent shootings in Texas that they may have a place in your eternal kingdom and those who have died the world over from war, terrorism and natural disasters. We also lament those who have died over the centuries due to slavery, lynching, racism and the unequal and unjust treatment of peoples in this country, for those who believed in your resurrection and those who knew not your promise of eternal life, in trust that they have been found by you and are at rest in your holy habitation
